George P. Enke Scholarship

The George P. Enke Scholarship was established by the Akron Chapter of The Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) m memory of George P. Enke. The award was initiated by Mr. Enke’s friends and fellow members of AITP in honor of all he accomplished throughout his lifetime for the systems profession and for The Association of Information Technology Professionals. One $250 scholarship will be awarded in memory of George P. Enke each academic year to a student enrolled in the Community and Technical College.

Qualified applicants must have attained sophomore, junior, or senior standing and must be registered at The University of Akron Community and Technical College and majoring in a computer-related field. The award will be made based primarily on the applicant’s financial need. The applicant’s interest and involvement in the field of MIS, his/her academic achievements, and his/her individual effort toward degree will also be considered.

The Scholarship Committee of the Community and Technical College will determine the awardee based on the above qualifications. The Community and Technical College must notify a member of the Chapter Board of Directors when the award is made and must provide the name and address of the award winner. The name of the award winner will be published in the Chapter Newsletter.

In the event the Community and Technical College does not have a qualifying student, the College of Business Administration may have the opportunity to award this scholarship.
