the Bruce W. Rogers, Jr. Honors Scholarship in Mechanical Engineering
The Bruce W. Rogers Jr. Honors Scholarship in Mechanical Engineering was initiated in 1991 by Bruce W. Rogers Jr. Mr. Rogers is a 1956 University of Akron mechanical engineering graduate and close friend of the College of Engineering. Mr. Rogers serves on the executive committee of the Engineering Advisory Council and has provided financial support to the college for many years. The scholarship shall be awarded each year to an outstanding student interested in studying mechanical engineering or currently majoring in this area. The scholarship may be awarded to an academically talented incoming freshman who plans to pursue a major in mechanical engineering. The scholarship recipient shall be selected by the dean of the College of Engineering in cooperation with the head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the Office of Student Financial Aid.
