the Beverly W. Barker Scholarship in Music

The Beverly W. Barker Scholarship in Music was established in 1993 by Dr. H. Kenneth Barker, dean emeritus of the College of Education, who has provided a lifetime of service to The University of Akron. The scholarship is in honor of his wife, Beverly W. Barker, who served as assistant head of the School of Music in the College of Fine and Applied Arts and has a lifelong appreciation of music. It is her request that her scholarship support be used to assist a talented and outstanding keyboard student.
