the Russell K. Hack Endowed Scholarship

The Russell K. Hack Endowed Scholarship, established in 2018, recognizes deserving and talented students within The University of Akron School of Law.

A Youngstown, Ohio, native, Russell enrolled at The University of Akron School of Law in 1989. He attended night classes while working full-time at a financial institution to fund his legal education. After four years of persistence and dedication, Russell earned his Juris Doctor degree from the School of Law in 1993. Russell says his Akron Law experience helped develop his ability to think more analytically, while also opening doors to a lifetime of experiences.

The Russell K. Hack Endowed Scholarship shall be awarded annually to student(s) taking classes at The University of Akron School of Law. First consideration should be given to any students who have shown an interest pursuing careers in environmental policy and protection. However, all students are encouraged to apply. Selection shall be made by the Dean of the School of Law, and may be renewed as long as the recipient(s) remains eligible and in good standing.
