John T. Pope Memorial Scholarship
The John T. Pope Memorial Scholarship is established with a purpose of helping deserving students who are successfully pursuing an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering. Rising sophomores and juniors will be eligible for $1000 scholarships that may be renewed one time in the successive academic year. The student recipient will be chosen by the Chair of the Department of Engineering, who may call upon faculty and others in the College of Engineering to propose candidates. Criteria will include academic strength, but above all be based on good character and hard work coupled with financial need.
With a recommendation from the Chair of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, the $1000 award may be renewed for one successive year. The basis for renewal will be academic strength and continued need.
