The Cheryl A. McKinney Women in Engineering Scholarship Endowment

The Cheryl A. McKinney Women in Engineering Scholarship Endowment was established in 2015 by alumna Cheryl A. McKinney, who has a passion to support women pursuing engineering degrees.

McKinney received a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering and a minor in chemistry from The University of Akron in 1986. During her education, McKinney worked for BP and Sohio. Upon graduation, she joined BP where she held various process engineering and production planning roles. She is currently the vice president of strategy and portfolio. McKinney is a member of The University of Akron’s Women in Engineering Advisory Council and a BP representative for the Society of Women Engineers.

The Cheryl A. McKinney Women in Engineering Scholarship Endowment shall be awarded annually to a female student pursuing an engineering degree at The University of Akron. Scholarship applications will be accepted from current students using the College of Engineering General Scholarship Application. Applicants will be participants in the Women in Engineering program at The University of Akron. Selection will be made by the associate dean for undergraduate studies and the director of the Women in Engineering program.
