J. Randall Hagerman Memorial Scholarship

The J. Randall Hagerman Memorial Scholarship was established in 2012 by Margaret Hagerman in memory of her late husband, J. Randall Hagerman. Born in Fresno, Calif., Mr. Hagerman attended The University of Akron and graduated in 1951 with a bachelor of science degree in business administration. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1953 with the rank of Captain. In 1956 he graduated from the University of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, following post-graduate studies in hospital administration. During his career, he worked in a number of health-care administrative positions, including Akron Children’s Hospital and the Toronto General Hospital, where he served in the position of Administrator. Over the years, Mr. Hagerman was a generous supporter of The University of Akron. The J. Randall Hagerman Memorial Scholarship was established to support students enrolled in the College of Business Administration at The University of Akron. Recipients will be selected on the basis of academic merit, leadership skills, and financial need by the Office of the Dean in the College of Business Administration in coordination with the Office of Financial Aid.
