Ernst & Young Endow-Lieberman
Ernst & Young LLP created The Ernst & Young Endowed Accounting Leadership Scholarship to benefit students enrolled in the George W. Daverio School of Accountancy at The University of Akron College of Business Administration. The purpose of the scholarship is to assist deserving students pursuing a degree in accounting. Ernst & Young scholars should:
Be enrolled in the George W. Daverio School of Accountancy at The University of Akron; Demonstrate financial need or hardship; Maintain a 3.0 overall GPA and a 3.25 GPA in accounting classes; Demonstrate involvement in extra-curricular activities, including sports, clubs, charitable organizations, or outside employment; Exhibit leadership abilities; Some of the partners of Ernst & Young LLP financed their own way through college via a combination of working and receipt of academic and athletic scholarships. As they understand the difficulties associated with balancing school, work, athletic, and community commitments, they wish to give preference to students who are financing their own education. One scholarship each year will be awarded under the name of the “Ernst & Young Endowed Accounting Leadership Scholarship in honor of Mr. Alvin H. Lieberman, associate professor, George W. Daverio School of Accountancy.” The partners of Ernst & Young LLP wish to honor Mr. Lieberman for the impact he has had on their careers and the careers of some the firm’s younger staff. All other Ernst & Young Scholarships will be distributed under the name of the "Ernst & Young Endowed Accounting Leadership Scholarship.
