The Judge Randolph Baxter Scholarship
The Judge Randolph Baxter Scholarship is established in honor of Judge Randolph Baxter of the United States Bankruptcy Court, Northern District of Ohio. The Honorable Randolph Baxter received his law degree in 1974 from The University of Akron School of Law. The Sixth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati appointed him to the bankruptcy bench in December 1985. Judge Baxter taught Bankruptcy and Advanced Bankruptcy at the School of Law. He was the recipient of the John R. Quine Award as an outstanding Adjunct Professor for the academic year 1992-93. In 1999 he received the Outstanding Alumni Award from the Law Alumni Association.
This annual award is to be presented to a University of Akron law student, selected by the dean, who has demonstrated substantial academic achievement in a prescribed course(s) of legal study.
