the Gary S. Calogar Memorial Scholarship
The Gary S. Calogar Memorial Scholarship was established April 9, 1993, by the family of Gary S. Calogar (BSN ‘84) in his memory. Following graduation, Gary had worked as a cardiothoracic nurse clinician. His memorial scholarship will be used to support students in the College of Nursing. Recipients will be selected on the basis of need and the personal qualities associated with the exceptional nursing student. The scholarship is to be awarded initially to a student entering the sophomore class and can be renewed annually if the recipient maintains a 2.50 GPA or better and follows the normal course of study. After the initial recipient has graduated or is no longer qualified, a new recipient in the sophomore class is to be selected. At the donor’s discretion, funds may be added to the endowment and the scholarship extended to additional recipients. The scholarship will be awarded by the College of Nursing Scholarship Committee in cooperation with the Office of Financial Aid.
