John Wesley Doubledee Endowed Scholarship
The John Wesley Doubledee Endowed Scholarship is awarded annually to one student who displays significant potential as a future business leader through academic success, civic involvement, and community efforts. The recipient will be a deserving student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in business within the following areas: e-business, entrepreneurship, international business, or information technologies. To be considered for this scholarship, both undergraduate and graduate students must have an overall GPA of 3.0 or better. Graduate students must have been accepted within one of The University of Akron’s graduate programs in the College of Business Administration. Preference will be given to students who are Summit County residents. Awards are renewable to students maintaining a 3.0 GPA. To apply for this scholarship, students must submit a letter of application and resume to The Office of Student Financial Aid. The letter should indicate how the candidate qualifies for the scholarship (e.g. current GPA, current employment, and extracurricular activities). The Office of Student Financial Aid will have the first opportunity to determine the recipients, in consultation with Deanna Doubledee. If there are no eligible College of Business Administration candidates, the Office of Student Financial Aid will determine the scholarship recipients in consultation with Deanna Doubledee.
