Brashares-Ash Family Endowed Scholarship
The Brashares-Ash Family Endowed Scholarship was created by Mr. Jeffrey R. Brashares ‘72 and his wife, Angie. Jeff and Angie have recognized the importance of higher education and worked to instill the value in their six children. Originally established in 2003 as The Jeffrey R. Brashares Endowed Scholarship in Entrepreneurship and revised in 2021, this scholarship represents the Brashares-Ash family’s commitment to the success of students pursuing advanced studies in the College of Business as well as their commitment to The University of Akron.
Jeff attended The University of Akron and majored in Transportation. His education, entrepreneurial spirit, and enthusiasm led him to a successful career where he was able to buy, build, and sell a multimillion-dollar logistics company. Aside from his love for family, classic cars, and Cedar Point, Jeff has also devoted his time and energy to lead several events and fundraisers to support the Arthritis Foundation.
Students enrolled in the College of Business in good academic standing are eligible for consideration of The Brashares-Ash Family Endowed Scholarship. First consideration will be given to students pursuing a Supply Chain Management major or pursuing a career in the transportation industry. Scholarship recipients will be determined by the College of Business Dean’s Scholarship Committee.
