The University of Akron Nutrition/Dietetic Program Advisory Board
The University of Akron Nutrition/Dietetic Programs Advisory Board Scholarship was created in 2004 to recognize the importance and need for qualified dietitians in the health-care communities throughout Ohio and the nation. An annual award of $500 or more will be presented to a deserving student(s) who is majoring in dietetics in either the Coordinated or Didactic Program at The University of Akron.
To be eligible, a student must have a minimum of junior or senior status at The University of Akron during the semester in which the award will be paid; pursue a declared major in dietetics; demonstrate outstanding academic performance as evidenced by his or her academic transcript with a GPA of 3.0 or higher; show professional promise through a track record of involvement in professional work or community activities related to the field of dietetics; and demonstrate leadership and teamwork. Based on the aforementioned criteria, The University of Akron Nutrition/Dietetic Programs Advisory Board will select a recipient.
The University of Akron Nutrition/Dietetic Programs Advisory Board Scholarship will be promoted in all literature concerning awards, and in presentations to prospective students. The University of Akron Nutrition/Dietetic Programs Advisory Board will present the award, and The University of Akron will publicize each award with mention of the Dietetic/Nutrition programs.
