Russell Mytenka Endowed Memorial Violin Scholarship

The Russell Mytenka Endowed Memorial Violin Scholarship was established in 1996 to honor the memory of the late Russell Mytenka, a lifelong Akron resident, once a soldier, and always a patriot, who loved music and particularly the violin. The endowed fund will provide an annual scholarship for a worthy violin student in the School of Music, to be chosen on his/her merit by the school scholarship committee. The scholar-recipients are requested to pronounce Mr. Mytenka’s favorite saying, “No guts, no glory,” upon receiving the award.
