the Brian E. Breittholz/Order of Omega Endowed Scholarship

The Brian E. Breittholz/Order of Omega Endowed Scholarship was created in July 2008. It is the intention of the Order of Omega (Greek leadership society) to endow this scholarship to honor Brian E. Breittholz, former Greek Advisor at The University of Akron and to build upon it with yearly fundraising.

Brian E. Breittholz served as Coordinator of Fraternity and Sorority Life and Assistant Director of Student Development at The University of Akron from 1988-1992. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism in 1986 and Master’s of Education degree in 1988, both from Ohio University. In 1992, the members of the Order of Omega decided to honor Brian for his service and dedication to the Greek System by naming their scholarship in honor of him.

The scholarship will be awarded to a member in good standing from among The University of Akron recognized fraternity and sorority chapters. The applicant must be a full-time student and have at least a sophomore rank with a minimum of a 3.0 GPA (on a 4 point scale). Selection will be based upon the following criteria:
