David and Margie Chick Endowed Scholarship
In recognition of The University of Akron’s 150th Sesquicentennial Anniversary, David and Margie Chick established The David and Margie Chick Endowed Scholarship.
Mr. Chick attended The University of Akron College of Business Administration, graduating with a degree in marketing in 1974. A four-year apprenticeship with Babcock and Wilcox later provided him with an engineering background from which he built his career as a Lead Estimating Manager for oil and gas projects, both domestically and abroad.
Mrs. Chick earned a nursing degree through a partnership between The University of Akron and Akron General Hospital. She earned a master’s degree in Education and Research from Mercy College in Detroit, Michigan. Throughout her career, she has held a number of roles in the nursing field, including working as a nurse anesthetist, nursing instructor and risk management consultant.
The David and Margie Chick Endowed Scholarship is open to University of Akron students enrolled in the College of Business Administration and those pursuing degrees in marketing. Scholarship assistance will be applied directly to the recipient’s student account and may be used to cover the cost of tuition and fees. Recipients and scholarship award amounts will be determined by the University Scholarship Committee.
