Akron Polymer Student Endowed Scholarship

The Akron Polymer Student Endowed Scholarship was established in November 2019 at the request of Dr. Ali Dhinojwala, interim dean of the College of Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering. Dhinojwala and other College leaders recognized a growing need for •’bridge" funding to assist polymer students whose grants or sponsorships end prior to their graduation. Scholarships from this endowment will enable these students to remain in school and complete their education.

Students eligible for The Akron Polymer Student Endowed Scholarship must:
• Be pursuing a graduate degree (full-time) in the College of Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering
• Be in good academic standing, with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Have demonstrated financial need

To be considered, students and their faculty advisers must complete an application by July 1 or December 1 and return it to the Office of the Dean in the College of Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering. Selection of the recipient(s) will be made by a scholarship committee. whose members will be selected and directed by the CPSPE dean or interim dean.

The Akron Polymer Student Endowed Scholarship will be awarded for one semester and may be renewed based on the student’s financial need. Scholarship amounts and dates of awards may vary depending on the availability of funds.
