Frederick W. Elliott Scholarship for Men's Soccer
The Frederick W. Elliott Scholarship for Men’s Soccer was established in 2018, and revised in 2021, by Fred Elliott, a 1987 graduate of The University of Akron College of Engineering. He has been an avid and loyal fan of the Zips Men’s Soccer program since 2009. As one of the program’s longest-serving season ticket holders, Mr. Elliott is a familiar face around First Energy Stadium – Cub Cadet Field. He also supports the team on the road during regular and post-season matches and has attended all of the team’s College Cup appearances, including the 2010 National Championship, with the exception of the 1986 appearance while he was a UA student.
The Frederick W. Elliott Scholarship for Men’s Soccer must be awarded to a member of the Men’s Soccer team. While not required, first consideration will be given for a student-athlete majoring in any engineering or STEM field. Annual award selection will be made by the head Men’s Soccer coach. Mr. Elliott will be notified of the selection by a representative of UA.
