Norman Lewis Endowed Scholarship for Mechanical Engineering
The Norman Lewis Endowed Scholarship for Mechanical Engineering was established in January 2022 by University of Akron alumnus Norman B. Lewis. Mr. Lewis earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 1975 and enjoyed a successful career, retiring as an engineer with General Electric. Believing in the importance of higher education, he served on the UA Mechanical Engineering Advisory Council for more than 20 years to help Zips students receive strong and beneficial educational instruction. In establishing this endowed scholarship, Mr. Lewis affirms his commitment to Akron and its students. Through his generosity, he hopes to support collegians on their journey to success.
The Norman Lewis Endowed Scholarship for Mechanical Engineering shall be awarded to deserving full- or part-time University of Akron students majoring in mechanical engineering. Recipients may be pursuing either a graduate or undergraduate degree and must show financial need. Recipients shall be selected by The University of Akron Department of Mechanical Engineering.
