UA Black Leadership Alumni Council Endowed Scholarship
The University of Akron Black Leadership Alumni Council Endowed Scholarship was established in April 2023 as part of UA’s We Rise Together Campaign. The University of Akron Black Leadership Alumni Council serves to promote, advance, and facilitate the engagement of black students and alumni as an integral component of the inclusion strategy of the institution. The council empowers members and associates through community building, fellowship, and internal and external networking activities on a continuous basis. The council’s objective is to maximize the engagement of members within the life of the University. This engagement includes, but is not limited to, promoting institutional diversity and inclusion, recruitment and retention of black alumni, faculty, staff, and students. Through this scholarship the UA Black Leadership Alumni Council seeks to uplift those who uplift the black community.
